Dr. Richard Tanzilli, II, D.M.D.
Dr. Richard Tanzilli was born the oldest of four children and raised in Malvern, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Villanova University with a B.S. in Biology. He received his D.M.D. from Temple University Dental School where he graduated at the top of his class and was honored with the International College of Dentists Award for Outstanding Achievement. He also published a scientific research study in pediatric dentistry while at Temple. He then went on to complete a general practice residency at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Tanzilli then specialized in orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester, in New York. While there, he published a second research study on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
Dr. Tanzilli volunteers his free time to perform orthodontic services for the underprivileged at the Community Volunteers In Medicine of West Chester. He supports local charities, schools and organizations through donations of money and services.
He is proud to be recognized by Main Line Today as Top Orthodontist, as voted by his dental peers, for multiple years. He was honored with a Featured Cover Story Article in The Doctor of Dentistry Journal.
Dr. Tanzilli is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Association of Orthodontists and the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists. He is on staff at The Chester County Hospital.
Dr. Tanzilli is married to Therese Carlucci - Tanzilli, a 4th grade teacher and passionate runner. Together, they enjoy raising their two very active children and their beagle, Chelsey.
Dr. Tanzilli is a dedicated fan of Villanova basketball and patiently awaits their return as National Champions! He is an avid guitarist and vocalist, who enjoys performing and recording his original music. He enjoys family time, skiing, hiking, biking, running, travel and good friends.
