Orthodontist

Richard Tanzilli II, D.M.D.

Dr. Richard Tanzilli grew up in Malvern, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Villanova University with a B.S. in Biology. He received his D.M.D. from Temple University Dental School where he graduated at the top of his class and was honored with the International College of Dentists Award for Outstanding Achievement.

He also published a scientific research study in pediatric dentistry while at Temple. He then went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, and then specialized in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester, New York. While there, he published a second research study on the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ).

He is proud to be recognized by Philadelphia Magazine and Main Line Today Magazine as Top Orthodontist by his dental peers, consistently every year from 2008 through 2025. He was also honored with a featured cover story in The Doctor of Dentistry Journal.

Dr. Tanzilli is on the medical staff of Penn Medicine at Chester County Hospital. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pennsylvania Association of Orthodontists and the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists.

Dr. Tanzilli is married to Therese Carlucci - Tanzilli, a 4th-grade teacher and passionate runner. Together, they enjoy raising their two very active children and their Beagle, Chelsey.

Dr. Tanzilli is a dedicated fan of Villanova Basketball and awaits their 4th National Championship! He is an avid guitarist and vocalist, performing in several cover bands and writes his own original music. He enjoys family time at the New Jersey shore, skiing, hiking, biking, running, travel and good friends.

Mary has been with Tanzilli Orthodontics for over 8 years. She loves working with kids and came to us after a career change, spending sixteen years as a High School Counselor. She enjoys vacationing at the Delaware beaches with her family and she is an enthusiastic Eagles and Villanova fan!

Megan joined Tanzilli Orthodontics in 2023. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and helping them feel comfortable throughout their treatment. Originally from Montana, she has a natural love for the outdoors. In her free time, Megan enjoys family time, gardening, crafting, hiking, helping others, and taking her dog on walks.

We are very excited to have Rani join the Tanzilli Orthondontis team! She has had an incredibly diverse career including : A Banker at Citizens Bank, A Montessori Teacher, A Nursing Assistant at Chester County Hospital, and now a totally awesome Orthodontic Assistant.

Angelina

After graduating high school, Angelina moved to Florida to embrace her love for the beach and began working in healthcare. She later transitioned into the orthodontic field and enjoys being part of each patient’s smile journey. When she’s not in the office, she runs her travel spray tan business, where she loves giving clients a boost of confidence.
